About the role

Millennium Rotorua is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Demi Chef to join their vibrant kitchen team in a full time role, working a minimum of 30 hours per week.You will be self-motivated, well organized and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.  You will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of food to the highest company standards, whilst maintaining a clean, safe and tidy work environment at all times.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparation and cooking food to the highest company standards to satisfy customers expectations
  • Maintain a clean, safe and tidy work environment at all times
  • Motivate and inspire kitchen staff with creative flair and ideas
  • Communicate with and support staff in other departments
  • Ensure stock is controlled and rotated
  • Ongoing training and development of all staff
  • Ability to work rostered shifts

Key Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of two years experience in an a la carte or banquets kitchen, preferably in a hotel or similar environment
  • Experience in cooking hot breakfast food items is essential
  • Passion for food and cooking
  • Good organisational skills and a high level of presentation
  • Flexibility to work all shifts including weekends
  • Team player with the ability to work under pressure
