About the role

The Grand Millennium Auckland is looking for a self-motivated Commis Chef to join the kitchen team in preparing and cooking breakfast, a la carte, and conference food for the hotel. This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys working early shifts in a fast paced environment. This is full time role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare a la Carte, buffet continental breakfast, staff canteen, room service with Deli baking skills
  • Maintain a clean, safe and tidy work environment at all times
  • Communicate with and support staff in other departments
  • Ensure stock is controlled and rotated
  • Ongoing training and development of all staff

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a busy breakfast kitchen.
  • Reliable and hardworking.
  • Ability to work early shifts including weekends.
  • Good organisational skills and a high level of presentation.
  • Team player with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of Health and Safety
  • Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised
