Millennium, Copthorne and Kingsgate Hotels are one of New Zealand's largest hotel operators and part of an expanding international network of hotels. We pride ourselves on offering an outstanding service experience at each of our 19 hotels for business and leisure guests alike.

We are looking for a motivated individual who can actively secure sales & maximise revenue for conferences, meetings and events within the Grand Millennium Auckland. The primary markets will be Business Travel (Corporate), and associate agents including Conference and Meetings as well as sports/clubs. In addition to this, you will source room nights and revenue for associations as well as other special interest and marketing groups.

Key responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager with a passion for customer service to be part of our team.

  • The ability to interact and build strong relationships with a cross section of customers
  • Developing a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Understand client needs and develop strategic solutions
  • Motivation to maximize all business opportunities
  • Advise of any opportunities for additional revenue
  • Conducting physical sales calls
  • Assisting in the annual implementation of the business plan
  • Proactively research & recognise new business opportunities
  • Key account management and development expertise

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to self-manage and work remotely
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills
  • Ability to plan, multi task and work effectively under pressure
  • High level customer service
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a hotel sales oriented role
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Ability to use sales techniques to convert enquiries into sales
